The studio kitchen at Wooden Spoons, is home to hands on culinary workshops and cooking classes for all food lovers in Ankeny, Des Moines and Central Iowa, catering to the needs of beginners, foodies, and culinary experts alike.

Chef/instructor, Deb Cazavilan also offers private parties and team building events centered around preparing and enjoying great food together.  

Deb began offering cooking and baking lessons in the kitchen of her former restaurant, The Little Blue House, in Ankeny in 2004 .  In 2009,  Wooden Spoons and Apron Strings opened in a building the Cazavilans remodeled as a kitchen classroom designed for groups of  8-12 students. 

In addition to teaching, Deb still finds time to bake her award winning Ankeny Mudslide Pie, created for her first restaurant, Cappuccino’s in 1993, and still delights chocoholics for miles around.
